Douglas Smith, MD

Dr. Douglas Smith is board certified in psychiatry and forensic psychiatry. He has more than 15 years of clinical experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings treating a wide range of mental health conditions. He has additional experience in providing forensic evaluations for criminal and risk assessment purposes.

Dr. Smith received his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas. He completed a psychiatry residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and went on to complete fellowship training in forensic psychiatry at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, New York.

Prior to joining Capital Health – Behavioral Health Specialists, Dr. Smith worked at the state psychiatric hospital in Trenton, New Jersey.
