About Manuel Vergara, MD
Dr. Manuel Vergara is board certified in neurology, neuromuscular/electrodiagnostic medicine, epilepsy, clinical neurophysiology and vascular neurology. He is qualified in headache medicine, is multiple sclerosis certified and has more than 35 years of clinical experience.
Dr. Vergara completed his neurology residency at the State University of New York - Downstate/Kings County Hospitals, where he served as chief resident during his final year. He went on to complete electromyography/neuromuscular fellowship training at the Louisiana State University in New Orleans, Louisiana. Prior to coming to the United States, Dr. Vergara earned his medical degree from Javeriana University in Bogota, Colombia. He then joined the Colombian Red Cross in Bogota where he worked as an emergency room physician.
Prior to joining Capital Health, Dr. Vergara worked in private practice at Lawrenceville Neurology Center in Mercer County, New Jersey for more than 25 years. He is a fellow of the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine and a member of the American Academy of Neurology.
